RAD-140 (Testolone) Review for Building Muscle & More

By now, I’m sure our readers are tired of hearing about the back injuries I sustained in a car accident and how the accident turned me into a flabby, out-of-shape mess. But as I’ve said before, SARMs like Andarine and Ligandrol saved my ass in a big way.

For those who aren’t in the know, SARMs are a family of chemical compounds called Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators which have had massive appeal among bodybuilders and athletes.

Testolone may sound like a nickname for a certain part of Lance Armstrong’s anatomy, but it’s actually the brand name of RAD-140, one of the more recent SARMs to hit the market. RAD-140 is every bit as rad as its namesake would suggest and today I’m gonna share with you my experience cycling with it.

But before we get into it, I’ll tell you more about how it works and why it may be beneficial for you. I’ll also explore what people are saying about RAD-140 (Testolone) and what it’s used for.

In the end, I trust you’ll have a well-rounded understanding of its mechanism of action, benefits, side effects and more.

Let’s get started.

Important: What to Consider Before Buying Testolone

I think you’ll agree that the term “research chemical” turns some people off. It sounds vague at best and shady at worst. But really, there’s nothing to fear; all the term really means is that the FDA (Food & Drug Administration) hasn’t approved it as a therapeutic medication.

There are hundreds if not thousands of natural supplements that work just as safely and effectively as pharmaceuticals (if not more so) and none of them are approved by the FDA. If you go to the vitamin aisle of your local Rite Aid, you’ll find countless popular supplements and proprietary blends that carry a warning label that they aren’t FDA-approved. It means nothing.

In the case of SARMs, most of them are actually finding favor among athletes and bodybuilders because they’re a safer alternative to more detrimental anabolic steroids.

Testolone, aka RAD-140, can be readily purchased online here.

The first study of RAD-140 was published in 2010. Since then, it has blown up among nootropic enthusiasts and gym fanatics. In the initial preclinical study, it was found to be a potent, bioavailable, nonsteroidal SARM.

RAD-140’s androgenic activity is increased by conversion to 5a-dihydrotestosterone via the 5a-reductase enzyme in tissues like the scalp and prostate.

In general, SARMs are able to treat muscle wasting thanks to their selective anabolic activity which produces extra protein that aids in muscle development. By binding to the androgen receptor in your body, they interact with testosterone, thereby influencing gene production.

While most studies have been conducted on monkeys and lab mice, RAD-140’s effects on humans are undeniable. There are innumerable testimonials online which attest to its medicinal benefits.

Not only has it been found to increase lean mass and burn fat tissue but it is also believed to play an instrumental role in endochrine resistance in patients with tumors, leading some to investigate its potential as a breast cancer treatment. As of September 29th, 2017, RAD-140 is in a Phase I clinical trial for the treatment of hormone receptor positive breast cancer.

Additionally, studies suggest that RAD-140 is neuroprotective in cultured neurons and kainate-lesioned male rats, preventing against cell death in hippocampal neurons. As such, it is being researched as a possible treatment for Alzheimer’s disease and similar neurodegenerative diseases.

For those who have undergone hormone supplementation, it has been clinically-proven to counter the prostate-enlargement of testosterone use, making it a viable option for those taking highly androgenic steroids.

What makes it most attractive to those who are looking for serious gains without the serious side effects is how it mimics the anabolic effects of steroids without all of the health risks such steroids possess.

RAD-140 (Testolone) Pros & Cons:

So now that you have a fundamental overview of how Testolone works and what it can do, let’s weigh its benefits and drawbacks.

It comes in pill, powder or liquid form, and can typically be taken safely in the short and long term to achieve significant gains.

This supplement may be a safe and effective alternative to anabolic steroids and other fat-burning, muscle-building formulas. For those looking to achieve lean muscle mass and trim down, Testolone has been a worthy choice. But it is important that users combine RAD-140 (Testolone) supplementation with a protein-rich, heart-healthy diet and consistent exercise regimen.

Pros (+):

  • Readily and legally available in the US
  • Increased stamina during prolonged workouts
  • Rapid muscle development and increased endurance
  • Higher muscle gains than those achieved by doping with anabolic steroids
  • Potential endochrine resistance in those with cancerous tumors
  • No significant or life-threatening side effects

Cons (-):

  • SARMs have been banned by the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency)
  • Mild side effects (loss of appetite, dizziness, nausea, headache)
  • Possible suppression after 8 weeks or more
  • Has not been approved by the FDA

Proper Dosing

Doses of RAD-140 (Testolone) start at as little as 0.3mg. Generally speaking, it is recommended to stick to 20 to 30 mgs per day. The ideal cycle duration is somewhere between 12 to 14 weeks.

Users who are dosing with more than 20 mgs daily should consider taking two to three weeks off between cycles to avoid any incident of tolerance or addiction. That said, no tolerance or addiction has been documented at this time. Nevertheless, it is best to take proper precautions to prevent any dependence or tolerance.

What People Are Saying About Testolone

Experiences with SARMs vary widely with some users reporting bad side effects or even utter ineffectiveness. However, it is worth noting that at least one post about such side effects was later updated to clarify that those adverse effects were caused by antidepressant withdrawal.

On the flip side, a response to that post claimed that the poster had taken RAD-140 for a period of sixteen weeks and felt “almost nothing.”

Others have said that it is great for endurance with one user writing, “My friends all started using rad-140 and swear they are seeing huge gains from it.”

Another poster said, “Did a low dose Rad run at 5mg ed doing Jim stoppani short cut to size with some morning cardio and small surplus diet. Had no idea what to expect. Skeleton muscle mass went up 5lbs and lost 2% bf getting me below 10%.”

A more enthusiastic user documented his experience on LongeCity, saying, “RAD140 has been one of my favorite supplements for a while now. I love adding it to my Nootropic stack. It’s pretty cool because it’s neuroprotective and also gives you GAINS lol.

“My two favorite things are building muscle and enhancing my cognition. There are side effects to it, it suppresses your testosterone levels so you need to do a quick PCT but I used it for 12 weeks with a couple of Nootropics and noticed an increase in motivation, sexual desire, cognition, memory, focus, endurance, and massive strength gains.”

My Personal Experience Using RAD-140

I began taking 20 mgs of RAD-140 in the last week of June. At the time, I was taking Andarine in the morning prior to doing some light cardio at home. So as to avoid any possible counteraction, I waited to take my RAD dose until the early afternoon.

By 3pm, I’d be rarin’ to hit up the gym. I found it easier to pound out multiple reps and experienced a smoother workout. Less sweating, less huffing and puffing and more gains over a shorter period of time than some of the other SARMs I’ve supplemented with.

By the end of September, I was cut like I hadn’t been in years and the flab was dropping off like water. I couldn’t have been happier with the results. But I should point out that I’ve taken my recovery and exercise routine seriously, perhaps more seriously than some other casually active people.

Over the last year, it’s been my goal to take myself down from 260 lbs to a lean 195 lbs. When I first resolved to get in shape, I was suffering from high BP (blood pressure) and heart palpitations. I was drinking tons of beer to numb my back pain and the carbs were stacking up.

Once I made my resolution, I took my SARMs supplementation and exercise regimen seriously. I cycle carefully, exercise regularly and make sure to eat plenty of smart foods in small portions throughout the day.

By sticking to this, I’ve been able to achieve significant gains with SARMs and I’m currently hovering around 200 to 202 lbs. I’m 6 ft tall to put that in perspective. Seriously, this stuff has worked wonders for me and I plan to experiment with others.

Closing Thoughts

To summarize, RAD-140 is a worthy choice for those in the market for a supplement that can yield lean muscle mass, protect your mental faculties and increase your performance at the gym.

If you’re looking to see real results, Testolone can do the trick. But be sure to maintain a healthy diet and a consistent workout schedule.
